Hail & Welcome New Dedicates to the Coven of the 13 Moons!

The other night, Friday night my Coven doubled in size from 2 to 4! We welcomed Papisa & Annan as dedicates to the Coven of the 13 Moons during our Full Moon Esbat. I have known both Individuals for almost 2 years now.

Papisa seeked us out once she heard that we were forming a Coven because she knew that her chemistry mixed with ours & knew that our Coven (with a little help from the Goddess to lead her to us!) was what she was looking for. Annan was a student of mine from my previous Coven that when it folded due to my good friend Lady Misty taking a year & a day sabbaticle, I brought him with me to continue his studies.

During the Ritual when the time was right, each Dedicate was taken out of the Sacred Circle through a doorway that was cut out. Each Dedicate was bound & blindfolded separately, issued a challange before they were allowed to re-enter the circle of which each passed, led into the Circle & knelt before the Altar as well as before the God & the Goddess, took a sacred Oath to the Coven, answered a series of questions, & finally introduced to the Coven & the Circle Guardians under their Craft names. (There was a few detailed things that I did leave out that are Secret that only Coven Members know, but I did want to give a brief summary of the evening's events!)

The evening ended with the new Dedicates receiving gifts from HPS Berkana & HP Caedmon. Berkana gave each Dedicate a small rock that each chose out of a Cauldron that was on the Altar for them to place on their personal Altar at their homes & I gave each Dedicate 2 new incense sticks (Nag Champa & a Frankinsence/Mhyrr mix) that were the scents which were burned at their Coven Dedication.

We planned on celebrating their new Coven Membership by going out to Shadowland which is a Goth Night Club located a block off of South Street in Downtown Philly on Saturday night. Papisa was a little under the weather & couldn't make it as well as my wife, Morgana, too was beat up from working Saturday morning, but Berkana, Annan, & myself went & had a good time. I left early because my knees & my back were bad, but Berkana & Annan were last seen dancing up a storm on the Shadowland dance floor! We will all go out again in a few weeks when everybody is feeling better, the 4 Coveners & the HP's wife, to celebrate the way real Witches do, in the night!
